Karta projektnega pospeška tal za povratno dobo 475 let je priloga slovenskemu standardu Evrokod 8. Konec leta 2005 je bil v Uradnem listu RS objavljen Pravilnik o mehanski odpornosti in stabilnosti objektov (Ur.l. RS, št. 101/2005), s katerim je Slovenija uradno sprejela evropski standard za potresno odporno gradnjo Evrokod 8 oz. EC8 (SIST EN 1998-1:2005). Določeno je bilo prehodno obdobje do 1. 1. 2008, v katerem se uvajajo nove zahteve pri projektiranju stavb, a je hkrati še dopustna gradnja po starih predpisih, t.j. Pravilnik (s spremembami in dopolnitvami) o tehničnih normativih za graditev objektov visoke gradnje na seizmičnih območjih (UL SFRJ 31/1981, 49/1982, 29/1983, 21/1988 in 52/1990). Od leta 2008 naprej za projektiranje lahko uporabljamo le karto projektnega pospeška tal (Lapajne in drugi, 2001, 2003). Slovenski standard Eurocode 8, Karta projektnega pospeška tal in Tolmač skupaj dopolnjujejo predpise o potresno odporni gradnji v Sloveniji.
