Topographic Dataset (DTM)

The topographic dataset is maintained in the form of a National Topographic Model (DTM), which contains graphical and attribute topographic data about objects that corresponds to the accuracy of scale 1 : 5 000.

The DTM covers topographical data for the entire territory of the Republic of Slovenia. It includes the topographical objects compliant with the INSPIRE guidelines. Part of DTM are also geographical names and digital terrain model.

DTM data can be used for geolocation of other spatial data, as a basis for displaying graphical parts of municipal spatial planning acts and for the needs of digital cartography. It is possible to link topographical objects to objects from different other sectors.

Statement
The basic source for establishment of topographic data in DTM is the latest data from cyclical aerial survey of Slovenia and laser scanning of Slovenia. Additional sources are data from other registers (Building Cadastre, Cadastre of public infrastructure, BCP, TTN) and field surveying. The topographic data at a scale of 1 : 5 000 are covered from 2002 onward and became part of the DTM in 2015, when it was established. The most recent data are from 2016. 2 430 sheets are covered (from total of 3 260) which represent over 74% of the entire country territory. The position accuracy of the topographic data in DTM is +/- 1 m.
