The vector data collection DPK 1000V is an object-oriented cartographic database at 1 : 1 000 000 scale. Elements on the map are divided into eight objects groups: mathematical elements, settlements and objects, communications, relief, hydrography, land cover, boundaries and dividing line, geographical names. The data set is used for "rough" orientation in the space and for the needs of large scale and thematic displaying.

National Geodetic Points are part of the national geodetic networks and provide a reference frame i.e. geodetic datum. National geodetic Points, connected in the networks, together with geodetic measurement and, measurements processing mechanisms for the determination of their coordinates and their connection to the European reference system are all fundamental elements of a new coordinate reference system in the Republic of Slovenia. A national geodetic point is established when it is materialized (means physically established with a permanent designation) and when its coordinates are defined in a National coordinate reference system. Their coordinates must be determined with a high precision, accuracy and reliability. National Geodetic Points are a physical presentation of the Slovenian national coordinate reference system and provides a linkage to the European coordinate reference system - ESRS. They serve as reference points for the determination of position changes in time and determination of transformation models or parameters between old and new national coordinate reference system.

The topographic dataset is maintained in the form of a National Topographic Model (DTM), which contains graphical and attribute topographic data about objects that corresponds to the accuracy of scale 1 : 5 000. The DTM covers topographical data for the entire territory of the Republic of Slovenia. It includes the topographical objects compliant with the INSPIRE guidelines. Part of DTM are also geographical names and digital terrain model. DTM data can be used for geolocation of other spatial data, as a basis for displaying graphical parts of municipal spatial planning acts and for the needs of digital cartography. It is possible to link topographical objects to objects from different other sectors.
